European Defence Policies in 2027 and beyond - Webinar 9 November 2026

  

Since the inauguration of the new European Commission in 2024, EU defence policies have gained unprecedented momentum. A vast array of new regulations and funding instruments is rapidly emerging . These are essential developments for every military and civilian defence expert across Europe.

To mention a few: the European Defence Industrial Strategy (EDIS), the European Defence Industry Programme (EDIP) (€1.5bn), the European Readiness 2030 white paper, the SAFE instrument (€150bn), the waiver on the EMU Stability and Growth Pact (€650bn), and the legal Omnibus..

As these frameworks take shape, the European Commission is crafting even more far-reaching proposals, including a European Defence Union, a Single Market for Defence, a European DARPA, and potential large-scale funding via Eurobonds or the 2028–2035 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). Meanwhile, the European Parliament consistently pushes to accelerate these efforts, adopting resolutions to deepen integration even further.
